Lower Extremity Prostheses

Depending on circumstances and your doctor’s preference, you may be fitted with a preparatory prosthesis that will allow you to begin walking as soon after surgery as possible, even while your residual limb heals and the swelling subsides. Such temporary prostheses are designed to be quickly and easily adjustable, and to adapt comfortably to the changing size and shape of your residual limb.

Otto Bock

The C-Leg – The first and only leg prosthesis system worldwide with a fully microprocessor controlled stance and swing phase. The C-Leg®, takes 50 measurements per second with its on-board force and angle sensors, while its computer software instantly adjusts knee functions to compensate. This enables the knee wearer to negotiate stairs and uneven terrain without conscious thought and compensation by the other leg…resulting in easier and more natural movement.

Genium System – This state-of-the-art microprocessor-controlled knee joint utilizes a complex sensory system and sophisticated rule sets to mimic natural gait more closely than any other prosthetic knee. With multiple environmental inputs (including a gyroscope and an accelerometer), the Genium delivers unmatched functionality, including special features to help step over obstacles and ascend stairs.

Springlite II Foot – This foot is custom made to order from the specific patient data. There is no weight limitation for this carbon fiber foot.

Harmony System – This system monitors residual limb volume and Improves proprioception. In addition, the Harmony vacuum system enhances residual limb blood circulation and ensures very good adhesion for more safety. Amputees experience relief of strain on joints and the spinal column.


Rheo Knee – The worlds first microprocessor swing and stance knee system to utilize the power of artificial intelligence. Capable of independent thought, it learns how the user walks, recognizing and responding immediately to changes in speed, load and terrain.

The SYMBIONIC LEG – The world´s first and only complete bionic leg, designed to offer the benefits of a intelligent powered ankle and an adaptive knee joint to transfemoral amputees.

Power Knee – Working as an integrated extension of its user, it synchronizes motion with that of the sound leg. When walking on level ground, the user is gently propelled forward, allowing greater distances to be covered without becoming as tired as before. On stairs and inclines the knee actively lifts the user up the next step, producing a secure and natural ascent, foot over foot.

Total Knee – The knee accommodates to everyday walking requirements. Through use of friction within an elastic polymer medium, the swing phase is controlled and steady. That combined with the extension promoter which assists in limiting heel rise and moving the knee into a fully extended position ensures every amputee has access to the superior attributes of a Total Knee.

Pathfinder – Historically, prosthetic feet have put a person’s weight on the edges of the foot. The unique design of the Pathfinder’s independent toes in combination with the pneumatic heel spring allow amputees to have the center of their weight on the ball of their foot. With the motion being created inside the design, it provides stability that is often lacking from a standard prosthetic ankle.

Flex-Foot – Two critical breakthroughs made this product unique and revolutionized the everyday aspirations of amputees. The first, energy storage and release, is a function inherent in the patented carbon fiber design of Flex-Foot. The second, vertical shock absorption, enables a more natural gait and protects the sound limb and remaining joints of the amputated limb from excessive shock.

The PROPRIO FOOT – Thinks for itself, responding beautifully to changing terrain and transforming the approach to stairs and slopes, as well as level-ground walking. Angling itself appropriately, it also helps amputees to sit and stand up easily and more naturally.

Iceross Liners – Widely accepted as a superior suspension system, Iceross silicone prosthetic liners stabilize soft tissue, minimize pistoning (stretching), helping to improve circulation and add comfort.


Alpha Liners – These mineral oil based liners provide added comfort for a range of upper and lower extremity prostheses.

Pathfinder Foot II – The key to this foot’s performance lies in its unique construction: a toe spring, a foot plate, and a pneumatic heel spring all connected in a triangular configuration. This design provides shock absorption during heel strike without diminishing the energy return of the toe spring, resulting in optimal flexibility, stability, and comfort.

College Park

TruStep – This foot combines virtually the same vertical motion, rotation and stability found in the anatomical foot. The unique split-toe design that defines the TruStep provides up to inch of independent toe flex during normal use. With a full range of options available, TruStep’s versatile design allows complete customization, resulting in a natural gait pattern and unsurpassed comfort.


Adaptive Knee – This microprocessor knee offers many benefits including, continuous microprocessor real time analysis 62.5 times per second, hydraulic stance stability,wireless programming and longer battery life (4-10 days). It is also compatible with most feet.

Elite Foot – This foot is ideal for those who have higher activity levels, such as daily activities that exceed basic walking including rigorous, high impact, high energy activities like athletics, children’s games and rugged work.

Upper Extremity Components

With the i-Limb ultra, your prosthesis looks and moves more like a natural hand than any other powered prosthetic hand. Each finger moves independently and bends at the natural joints so that it can accurately adapt to fit around the shape of the object you want to grasp.


Elegantly designed, the bebionic hand is a new generation of fully articulating myo-electric hands. Grasping everyday objects with precision and ease is possible due to the compliant surface and multiple grip patterns.

Motion Control

Fillauer/Motion Control’s Utah Procontrol 2 – The world’s first self-adjusting below-elbow prosthesis, and is small enough for children. Utah Arm 3-In 2004, Motion Control introduced microprocessor technology into the Utah Arm 3 (U3), with a Computer Interface that allows the prosthetist or wearer to fine-tune the adjustments to achieve maximum performance. A variety of inputs may be used, so more options are available to more wearers in this updated myo-electric arm.

Otto Bock

Sensor Hand Speed – With a dizzying 300 mm per second opening/closing speed, (over twice as fast as before) and enhanced EMG signal processing, the new “SensorHand Speed” has unmatched performance.

Dynamic Arm– A new generation of elbow joints has arrived with flexion controlled by an electric motor in combination with a unique vario drive. The DynamicArm 12K100 allows for quick, exact positioning of the hand with little energy expenditure and incorporates an innovative, high-performance drive with stepless gears that can lift loads up to 6 kg.

Liberating Technologies

Boston Digital Arm System – LTI introduced the Boston Digital Arm System early in 2001. This prosthetic system incorporates microprocessor technology for improved performance and optimal patient adjustment.
